BBC Radio One’s Hackney Weekend kicked off on Saturday with live music across six stages from some of our favourite artists.
UK and international performers put on an amazing show by displaying their talents within the realms of music. But as always we couldn’t help standing in awe (and sometimes just plain shock) at some of the outfits our favourite performers braved the marshes in.
So let’s take a look at some of those show (and in some cases career) stopping outfits.
Leona Lewis
The local girl kicked off the weekend of live music in an interesting pyjama-inspired ensemble.
Although she’s not famous for her amazingly good fashion sense, even the abundance of artificial flowers and huge heart behind her couldn’t distract us from her off-key outfit.
Rita Ora
Keeping with the pyjama theme, Rita Ora went for a white patterned ensemble which was more OAP than VIP.
The old school sunglasses and black roots in her signature blonde curls didn’t help lift the look out of the pit of failure that it wallowed in.
Nicki Minaj
Nicki is never one to shy away from an attention grabbing outfit – especially when it comes to performance outfits. She went all out with a super tight jumpsuit with zip detailing and platinum blonde curls. She accented her outfit with pink checked gloves, pink boots and her trademark bright pink lips. Yes. We get it. You like Barbie…
Jessie J
She has a wardrobe full of striking outfits (and poses). Jessie J went for a pair of yardie inspired striped jeggings and an orange crop top which looks like it was stolen from Sporty Spice’s wardrobe.
Rihanna
Let’s not even talk about Rihanna’s solo performance outfit… and rewind to Saturday when she wore this more acceptable outfit to sing with Jay-Z. With a leather bondage-inspired headpiece and retro round sunglasses, Rihanna had her accessories down.
