Shocking news from Square Ville reached me this morning that the hit making duo and their artiste under Square Records popularly known as May D are no more on the same page and hence they split up.
I heard rumors of this same story last week, how there was no contract signed when May D was brought into Square records and when it as time to make it official, May D made some demands from them which they are not ready to agree to. I quickly brushed it off as one of those stories till it was confirmed by Jude Engees Okoye, President/C.E.O of Square Records and Northside Entertainment Ltd. Could this be as a result of P-Square's latest leaked single Alingo? Could it be as a result of May D's demands from them as the rumors have been saying? Whatever it is, we wish both parties the best of luck in their future endeavors. Here is an official statement from Jude Okoye.
"TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I, JUDE 'ENGEES' OKOYE of Square Records Limited and Northside Entertainment Limited hereby announces to the general public that Mr. Akinmayokun Awodumila, otherwise known as MAY D is no longer an artiste under the aforementioned outfits due to irreconcilable differences. We at Northside and Square records wish him all the best in his career and life."
And as for Mr May D, i heard he might join the HKN Gang soon with Davido and co. I also heard he has been around them for a while now and that he is hoping he moves on with his career there. Right move? Wrong Move? Did spending time with the HKN guys influence his demands from P-Square? Share your thoughts.
