Nigeria First Lady Arriving Abuja From Germany
As reported by LEADERSHIP, Nigeria's first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan is air borne from Wiesbaden, Germany and is billed to arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in a couple of minutes from now.
Already, a team of escort and protocol officers have left the presidential villa to the presidential wing of the the Abuja airport where Dame Patience who had been receiving medical attention in Horst Schmidt Klinik in Germany is expected to Land.
According to flight schedule, the presidential jet conveying the first lady is expected to touch the groung by 2 pm this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the mood at Aso Rock presidential is expectant, while President Goodluck Jonathan presides over the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the moment.
The president who had earlier sworn in the new Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission was also in high spirit, beaming with smiles.
Some weeks after she was reportedly taken to Germany for treatment of an unspecified ailment, the media was awash of speculations about her health condition. Special Assistant on Media to the first lady, Mr. Ayo Osinlu had battled hard to keep the issue away from the public.
He told curious State House Correspondents that the first lady was only “resting abroad” after hectic schedules. It was later revealed that she was in Horst Schmidt Klinik receiving treatment.
A frantic attempt to ascertain the type of illness Dame Patience was suffering from also gave room for speculation about the type of illness Patience Jonathan was being treated for.
First she was reportedly made to undergo a major surgery operation for ruptured appendix caused by food poisoning before another report noted that she was suffering from cancer of the uterus. There was also another report that the first lady was a victim of a lingering partial stroke, a condition which dates back to their days in Bayelsa government house when her husband was deputy governor.
