Kelvin Easton murder trial: Victim 'killed in nightclub'

A 23-year-old man died after he was stabbed four times in a club full of 500 people, the Old Bailey has heard.

Kelvin Easton was attacked by a large group of men at Boheme in Mile End Road, Bow, east London, in March 2011.

Warren Allen, 30, of Holloway, north London, denies murder. The court heard how he had fled London and was arrested eight months later at the Oxfordshire home of a relative of his girlfriend.

Nathania Simon, 24, denies two counts of perverting justice.

Prosecutor William Boyce QC told jurors Mr Allen's cousin had been stabbed in the club earlier in the evening and Mr Allen had gone looking for Mr Easton.

"There was a rush of seven or eight men, brushing aside anything in their way, clearly heading for Kelvin Easton," he said.

Mr Boyce said Mr Easton was beaten up and stabbed with two knives before falling down a flight of stairs and collapsing.

The defendant was behind Mr Easton and was later found to have a stab wound to his shoulder, the court heard.

After being driven to a north London hospital under a different name, Mr Allen had allegedly walked out wearing a hospital gown and with a cannula still in his arm.

"He removed them in the street and disappeared for about eight months," said Mr Boyce.

Ms Simon is alleged to have lied to police about being in contact with Mr Allen and spent nights with him in hotels, including one in Brighton (city where I live #JustSay).

The trial continues.
