“Our Foreign Students Must Stay!”: London Metropolitan University Launches Legal Action To Stay Deportation"

The London Metropolitan University, whose ‘highly trusted’ status was revoked last week putting thousands of foreign students (including many Nigerians) in danger of deportation, is launching a lawsuit against the UK Border Agency to reverse the revocation of its license to sponsor international students. The action is being taken so that students could return to study “as a matter of urgency,” the university said.

The Border Agency revoked London Met’s license after it was discovered that over 500 of the university’s 2000 foreign students did not have the required permit to study in the UK. Let’s hope that the lawsuit turns out in its favour, the futures of many young Nigerians are at stake here.
